The OAD 2023 initiative kicked off in January 2023, and with this edition it reaches the 16th consecutive year of online investigations into intentional digital attacks on public and private companies n Italy.

OAD, Observatory of Digital Attacks in Italy, is the only initiative in Italy for the analysis of intentional attacks on the iIT systems of Italian companies and public bodies, carried out with an anonymous survey addressed to all companies, of every product sector and size , and to Public Administrations through an online questionnaire with pre-set answers that can be filled in with a modern browser.

 

The main innovations of OAD 2023

 To facilitate and speed up the compilation of the strictly anonymous OAD 2023 online questionnaire, the  2023 survey:

• focuses only on the digital attacks on websites and web applications detected in 2022,  and contains only two questions on the other types of attacks detected in 2022, in order to have general trend data on the attacks (what is attacked and with which techniques) from 2007 to today;
• the part on the security measures in place to protect the sites and web applications is made optional, but strongly recommended:  answering this part as well and completing the entire questionnaire allows you to have a macro evaluation of the security level, based on the selected answers and on the context of the company/institution and its information system, also with the list of the most critical responses that had the greatest impact on the evaluation.

• ISSA Journal March 2022, with an article by AIPSI on the gender gap in Italy on digital security professions.

 

Also for the 2023 edition, as for the previous ones, OAD has the precious collaboration of the Italian Postal and Communications Police which provides a specific chapter for the final OAD 2023 report, that includes data relating to the C.N.A.I.P.I.C. and the C.N.C.P.O., computer crime, computer fraud, online and social scams, cyberterrorism prevention.
